Service Issue, VOM – 29/07/2016

At around 5:15AM an issue occurred on our suppliers network taking our primary fibre feed for Lovesome and Merrybent offline. As of 6:45AM We have re-routed traffic and most people should now be back online. Please be aware speeds will be reduced across the Vale of Mowbray Network while operating on our backup system, and public IP addresses are not currently accessible.

We await a fault report from our suppliers, we apologies for the frequency in outages at these sites this week – this will be raised with our supplier.


Following initial diagnostics by our suppliers this looks like a fibre fault requiring a Virgin Media engineer to visit. An engineer is on their way, but we don’t have any time scales just yet. For the moment we continue to operate on our back up supply, customers with public IP addresses should find they have internet access but that their IP isn’t currently available.


Following work by Virgin Media the fibre connection has been restored, and normal service has resumed. Virgin Media advise there is continuing issues in the local area, so we may see service failover again as they continue to work to restore service to everyone affected.

We believe this issue is now resolved.
