Network Upgrade, Nun & Moor Monkton – 23/06/2016

On Thursday the 23rd June we will be working in the village to upgrade our gateway installation at Nun Monkton school to make full use of the extra NyNet capacity following our previous upgrade works back in January this year.

As this is a major upgrade, service interruptions will be unavoidable. We expect there to be no service from 10:30AM until midday as we install new equipment at the school, and then intermittent service after lunch while we upgrade key wireless infrastructure to deliver faster speeds to key repeater sites around the village.

We expect full service to be restored by the evening, although timings may vary slightly due to weather and other unknown factors.  This message will be updated throughout the day as work progresses, as will the status message on our support line.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused while this essential work takes place.

Work is progressing well at the school, with the new wireless equipment currently being installed on the pole. We hope to power the new radios up by 2:30PM.

Work at the school continues, running new cables is taking longer than anticipated.

Work at the school has been completed, we are now working on upgrades at our repeater sites. Internet access will be intermittent while this work continues.

All works have been completed successfully, and full service has been restored. We will be carrying out a frequency review over the next 48 hours to ensure the new equipment is running at its optimum potential, changes in frequency will result in brief interruption to service but only for 30 seconds at a time.
